Subfolders Status in Send/Receive Groups

Beth

Hi..

I have a customer who would like to know if there's a way to set outlook so
all new folders are automatically included in the Send/Receive groups upon
creation.
Currently, we have Outlook 2003. For example, I have my Inbox set to be in
my default Send/Receive Group. However, if I create a new folder as a
subfolder of my Inbox, I still have to go into Send/Receive settings and
apply the checkmark to set this folder to be synchronized. My customer would
like to 1) know the rationale behind this and 2) know if there's a way to
get around this.

Thank you

If you are using Cached Exchange mode, all folders in the mailbox are cached locally automatically unless you set File | Work Offline and only work offline (a rather rare scenario). In other words, there should be no need to tinker with send/receive groups at all.

So, even if there's not a check to include in a new folder in the
Send/Receive groups, if I use Cached Exchange mode, its still synchronized?

Correct. You should be able to pull the network cable and see this for yourself.
