Subtotal a list

[Excel Newbie]

Hi,

I have a list of sales that I would like to breatk into
sales totals by sales persons. Its a single list of every
sale they have made over the last year.

Any help please

Looks like you need a SumIf formula...

=SUMIF(SalesPersonsRange,X2,SalesRange)

where X2 houses a sales person of interest.

As an alternative, you might want to look into Pivot Tables.
