Subtotals

Does anyone know how to create subtotals such that two
different columns can be summed or counted with the
results in the same row? This function always seems to
give a new subtotal a name on a different line, and my
speadsheet looks confusing and sloppy. Mucho thanks in
advance.

If I understand correctly, you want to subtotal column a
and column b. When you do your subtotal, the bottom
viewbox is labeled "add subtotal to". Just click on the
columns that you want subtotaled.....

If that doesn't work for you (it should), try copy and
pasting the first successful subtotal to the other columns
that you want..

Thanks for your help, but I guess that I wasn't real
clear. I want to count column B on changes in column B and
sum column D on changes in column B. I can do that if I
use the function twice, but it put the results on
different rows.
