Successful at getting Entourage to Exchange?

G

Gerber

If you have succeeded, I need your help. I have never gotten it to
work for more than email. My IT guy is a volunteer (we're Non-Profit)
who says the server meets the server requirements for exchange
functionality, but has never gotten the LDAP or free/busy server
addresses to me for six months!

Here's what I really need:
Our organization stores contacts in different folders under the Public
Folders. The Mac users need to be able to see the contact info and to
email the contacts. Currently I see the Public Folders, but they are
formatted like emails and don't show any information. Has anyone
gotten Entourage configured to be able to see contacts and their info
in the Public Folders?

Is their any other solutions other than Outlook 2001 under classic to
this problem?

Thanks!

Hi,

Well, I have, by Exchange servers come in so many different flavors :-\

Well, here is what you need:
IMAP for e-mails (is it enabled??).
OWA (Webmail) for calendar and address book sync.
LDAP for global address book queries

The three are pretty much independent so you can still use some of the
functions even if you don't have all the settings.

Here's what I really need:

That's because the Free/busy server is not setup properly.
If your webmail server is "www.webmailserver.com" then try using:
www.webmailserver.com/public
as your free/busy server

Entourage cannot recognize contacts or calendar events stored in public
folders. It only gets the contacts and events stored in your personal
exchange account.

Yes, RDC against a Windows server (or Windows Pro XP box), or Vitual PC.
Both cases using Win Outlook.

Woops I re-read the original post and realized I might have
misunderstood the question. I'm not sure you can do that in ENtourage

hAD THIS SAME PROBLEM. Apparaently entourage doesnot support public folders. you have to wait for a new fix to come out soon. I truly recommend these 'entourage' users to use Outlook Web Access. Save yourself the headache my friend.
