suddenly can't open image attachments

I recently installed Service Pack 3 on Office XP and
suddenly I have two major problems with Outlook--

1. I can no longer open or preview image attachments.
Before SP3, when I double-clicked a JPEG or GIF
attachment, they automatically opened in Windows Picture
and Fax Viewer. Now, when I double-click them, nothing
happens. I can also no longer drag image attachments to my
desktop.

2. I can no longer drag an attachment to an outgoing email
without receiving the error message "out of memory or
system resources. close some windows or programs and try
again."

THIS SUCKS ! PLEASE HELP !!!
