Suggest a Palm Device for Office 2004

Joel McIntosh

I just installed Office 2004 and love the changes. I would like to start
syncing a Palm device with Entourage 2004. I really just want a solid little
palm device that will sync effectively with Entourage 2004 and allow me to
carry all of my Entourage information around with me (I do not need the
bells and whistles offered with some devices such as capabilities to play
mp3 files or take digital photos). Can you guys suggest a Palm device that
plays well with Entourage 2004?

I'm happy with the Palm Zire 21.

If you're looking for a device that is a bit more sophisticated, you might
wish to check out the Zire 31.

I think it looks terrific, but there is one thing about it that it concerns
me. It comes with the new organizer applications that aren't completely
compatible with Entourage 2004. Hopefully a conduit update will make
Entourage 2004 fully compatible with these new handhelds. See the text
block about the Tungsten T3 and E on this page for more details on the
problem:

I love the Palm Tungsten T series with built-in Bluetooth. Wireless
HotSyncing is great -- no cradle needed.

My wife recently got a new job that required her to be a tad more
organized, so she got a Palm Tungsten E. Good device, with perhaps a few
more bells and whistles than you had in mind. I carry a Kyocera 7135,
which is an integrated cellphone/PDA with (probably too) many features,
most of which I actually use. Both work well with Entourage 2004,
although Mickey's note about the E not being fully compatible with
Entourage is well worth reading.

Cheers,
-Paul
