I can't remember how to do this...if I have eg 1 summary task and 3
tasks..with value list field data saying Red, Amber, Amber respectively, how
can I get the value list field at summary level to display Red ie the defined
worst value?

Hi Steve,

If the values Red, Amber, Green are calculated in a custom field, you can
select the option in the Customize fields dialog box for "Calculation for
task and group summary rows" of "use formula".

If the values are just a simple value list (i.e. the user selects a value
for the subtask) I don't know of any way to make the summary task
automatically inherit a value as you suggest.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

For the worst value of any sub task, if it can't be calculated from summary
task level data, then you need to use a VBA macro and run it regularly to
update flags. You can make macros run every time you save.
