Suppress SQL Login Failure dialog?

I'm working on an application that utilizes tables from an SQL2000 server.
When there is a problem with the server, the SQL Login Failure dialog
appears and provides information that I would rather the user not see if
possible. Is there any way to keep this box from appearing? I've already
used the error trap, but the dialog appears before the error is trapped.
