Switched ISP; CAn't use Entourage now

I recently switched from Verizon DSL to Comcast cable for high speed
internet. Had some problems with email setup in Comcast that prevented
internet access for about a week. They claim that problem is solved.
However, I still cannot get Entourage to send/receive email despite
setting up the account as instructed. Comcast says I should be able to
use other domains as well as comcast.net, but nothing works. Error
message: connection failure has occurred. Comcast suggests clearning
cache. Don't know how to do this on a Mac. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Presumably, you have shut down and restarted your machine. Can you ping
your mail server?

Sorry; not familiar with "ping." Can you explain? I was able to set up
Mac mail which seems to be working for both sending and receiving mail
from all domains. Yes, I have restarted several times over the problem
period (a bit over 1 week), and rebuilt permissions a few times as
well. Thanks.

Figured out ping. Time = about 35ms. Was wrong about mac mail. It works
sometimes but not others.
