Switching mail identity while keeping other office apps open

W

Wim Melis

Hi all,

Probably expecting the impossible, but I thought I'd ask nonetheless:

At the office we constantly have different people working on whatever
computer is available at the time. Thus every computer has a set of Office
2004 identities for all the potential users, holding their email settings.

If someone needs to switch to their own email identity, it's necessary to
first quit all the other Office apps. Rather annoying, since Word is open
everywhere all the time.

It would be great if we were able to switch mail identities without having
to quit Word first.

Is such a thing possible?

Thanks,
Wim

No. Word's Contacts toolbar, Address Book in Tools menu, Data Merge Manager,
and tooltips for contacts all defer to the open (or last used) database in
Entourage. Then there's Office Notifications (the Reminders app) which is
running all the time on the same database. There can only be one identity
open in Office at a time.

Pity... Especially since we never use the account features in Word. But it's
kind of what I expected, thanks for the reply.

Best,
Wim
