swopping account to new user on same machine

H

Hugh Williamson

Hi

Our IT dept is insisting we change our log in accounts so that we have to
sign into
our network like the PC users.
They have created a new user on my machine and I need to move my
email account to this user (Trying to access my existing MUD results in a
-5000 error)

Can I simply duplicate, or move my MUD folder over? I am frightened of
losing
everything or having horrible permissions problems!

any advice?

Thanks

HUGH

Just to be safe, duplicate your MUD folder.

1. Put your Microsoft User Data folder in the Shared folder in your old
User. Leave the copy in your Documents folder for safe keeping.

2. Switch to your new user and move the MUD folder to your new User¹s
Document folder.

Not sure about permissions, but if you let Entourage create a MUD folder in
your new user, you can do a Get Info on the folder and see what permissions
are set. Now compare these permissions to your old MUD folder. If they are
different, you can change them after it¹s moved. I would check the
subfolders too just in case.
