Sync Issue with Entourage X and Palm

Roger

Hey all,

Recently I was unable to sync my Palm with my iMac (OS X,
Office v.X). Reading some info on the web I completed a
fresh install of the Palm Sync Software and the Entourage
conduit to no solution. I eventually went as far to
disable some of the components of the Entourage conduit
and that fixed the issue. I currently have all modules
syncing except the Calendar, which when its enabled
crashes the sync process.

Has anyone experienced this and/or knows how to fix this
issue as I really require my Calendar to work effectively.

Thanks

Roger

Make sure all recurring events that you are synchronizing have end dates.
There is a bug in some versions of the conduit that causes synchronization
to crash if a recurring event without an end date is encountered. If you
add end dates to all events, that should fix the problem.

I spent the past 8 hours working on this problem and found a way around it.
It takes a few steps and a third party application called QueueSync Date.

Overview: The Microsoft conduit that syncs entourage to your palm works
fine, except for the Calendar sync. So you need to use the third party
software to get around this problem. Once that's done, it works.

Solution:
Step 1. Open hotsync manager, then the conduit settings, then go to your
Entourage conduit settings and disable the Calendar sync function (tell it
to do nothing).

Step. 2. Download QueueSync Date (I found it on this page:
http://www.queuesoft.jp/download-e.html).

Step 3. Put the QueueSync Date conduit into your conduits file
(library/application support/Palm sync...)

Step 4. Open hotysync manager again and set the QueueSync Date settings. I
started by having the handheld overwrite entourage, then switched to sync.

Step 5. Hotsync.

That should do it. Enjoy.

Roger--and Jeffrey__how did you figure out how to edit the Entourage
Conduit Settings in the HotSync Manager. When I double click on it
nothing happens. And when I Sync nothing happens. I have posted
messages to countless newsgroups and no one has helped me. I am
frustrated beyond belief.

To change Entourge Conduit settings in HotSync Manager:

1. Open HotSync Manager (should bring up window "HotSync Software Setup")
2. Don't click on this setup window ; instead, click and hold the "HotSync"
pull down menu at top of screen
3. Select "conduit settings" (should bring up window "Conduit Settings")
4. You should see a line that says "Entourage Conduit"
5. Double click where it says "Double-Click to see"
6. This should open up the Entourage Settings window.

Good luck!

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. Before I posted I was following the steps
that you typed for me--the problem is that when I double click to open
the Entourage Settings window it DOES NOT open. Ever. It has opened
once.
