sync services not really working

I have installed sync services last week, and after finally figuring
out that I needed to reinstall the Entourage conduit to sync to my Palm
only, I finally got it working (MS could have been a little more
clearer in that requirement within their documentation, but hey.) .....

NOW THE REAL QUESTION.........

now that I sync my Entourage Calendar to iCal (set to Automatic in the
prefs), it never makes it up to my .MAC account calendar. I need to
start iCal and let the automatic publishing happen, and it then updates
my http://ical.mac.com/<username>/Entourage calendar with the updated
entries.

Is this how it's supposed to work ? Am I missing a setting or a step?
If it is to work this way, it's not a good sync service that requires
me to always start iCal to get my Entourage changes published.....
Does anyone know if this is a bug in the sync services and MS is going
to fix it ?

Any thoughts or help on this is greatly appreciated.

If it makes it to iCal, then the extend of what ENtourage can do is
reached. If if then doesn't make it to .Mac, it's either a setting issue
in .Mac (eg: do not sync a category) or a .Mac sync issue (I've had
TONS!). You could try using the .Mac prefpane to reset .Mac :-\

THat's *very* different. In iCal you need to select the calendar called
Entourage and use the Publish command. That's not .Mac synchin, it's
publishing on your homepage.
