Synchronizing Entourage X with a Pocket PC

I've read numerous articles that say that it's not possible to
synchronize Entourage X with Palm Tungsten. Is it possible to sync
Entourage X with a Microsoft Pocket PC device?

Thanks,
Brian

Are you sure about that? certainly for it's possible to sync Entourage 2004
with a Palm Tungsten. With certain of the Tungstens (the newer models) that
have the version of Palm OS 5 with Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Nots rather
than AddressBook, Datebook, Todos, Memos, there are a few fields - second
postal address, birthdays, calendar categories- which don't sync and should
be avoided on the Palm (because syncing would erase just those fields).
That's all. It is possible that the renamed features may not work with
Entourage X: in the 2004 Entourage conduit you do have to check a checkbox
to sync with the new-named features. (There's also a cool setting that lets
you sync the 2nd address fields, after all, to Palm custom fields.)

You might be a lot better off upgrading to Office 2004 and using the
built-in Entourage conduit, which is fully supported. MS also intend to
release an update later in the year to work with Tiger Sync Services: I'd be
really surprised if it doesn't also provide full compatibility with the new
Palms.

Hi Paul -- thanks for the information. My original post was based on
the following info that I got from Microsoft's page discussing the
Entourage X Conduit:

"Microsoft Handheld Synchronization can be used with the following
programs for Palm OS 3.x or later: Datebook, Address Book, Memo Pad,
and To Do List. It is not compatible with the following new programs
included on handheld devices such as the Zire 31, Zire 72, Tungsten E
and Tungsten T3: Calendar, Contacts, Memos, and Tasks."

I will upgrade to Office 2004, and hopefully that will work better.
Thanks,
Brian
