syncing between home computer and laptop

R

rogue

this may be a basic question....

i've just now loaded entourage on my home and mobile computers, and
i'd like to set up so that data between the two is synced, if
possible....especially scheduling and email

is there any way to make the home computer the main data repository,
and the laptop, a satellite that can be synced the same way a palm is?

appreciate your replies.

I think you can achieve this using Paul Berkowitz' "Export-import Entourage
X" scripts to be downloaded from macrscripter:

You can, and thanks for the plug, Bernard.

But if you want to keep your computers' Entourages in total sync, and they
both have Entourage X (or both have 2001 for that matter), it's much easier
instead to copy the Office X Identities folders from whichever computer is
currently up-to-date to the other one. The folder is here:

/Users/[username]/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office X Identities/

Just copy the whole folder to the same location on the other computer,
replacing. (Probably a good idea to save a backup copy of the "old" one
first in case you're doing this backwards by mistake.) If your two computers
have different account setups, then you'll need my scripts to avoid
replacing accounts, etc. Easier would just be to switch to the correct
account.
