Is it possible to format a text file so it can be imported in En'rage (you
like that contraction? it's like "Enrage".) X? Likewise, can you export a
Calendar item from Entourage and then manipulate it in a text/code editor?
By dragging a calendar event to your desktop you get an .ics file. That's a
specially-formatted text file which can be opened and edited in any text
editor - just use the text editor's File/Open to open it (or drag the .ics
onto the editor's icon) - don't double-click. But don't edit any of the
special labels or punctuation that goes with it, just the content of each
item. By studying a few examples you may be able to figure out the
formatting. Somewhere on the internet there will be an RFC protocol that
describes exactly the format, which is called "iCal". By giving the
resulting text file the .ics extension (and setting Entourage rather than
iCal to be the default app for it in Get Info, if necessary), you'd be able
to import it into Entourage by double-clicking. Note Entourage does not
import or export multiple-event .ics files (like iCal's export of entire
calendars), only single-item files. Tasks are also .ics format with
different parameters. In Entourage 2004 you'll be able to make and export
these files via AppleScript in a manner similar to how 'vcard data' property
of contacts currently does with contacts.
