System I/O error, but still receiving e-mails??

I have my computer set to send and receive every 5 minutes. Everything
has been fine and then all of the sudden I get this "Mail could not be
received at this time...The server returned the following error: System
I/O error...Error 1025"

I am still receiving emails and I can still send them, but it keeps
giving me this message every 5 minutes. I don't understand. I
searched the news groups and don't see any fix for it. Is my entourage
getting ready to go kaput? Any help on this would be much appreciated.
Thank you!

That sounds like an error on the server, rather than in Entourage.

Can you paste a screenshot of the error message into a reply, and then we
can make sure?

Here is the screen shot...let me know what you think. Also, is this a
problem only with IMAP, or can it be with POP too? I have both, but I
stopped the IMAP from connecting during my send and receive schedule
and am still getting the error message.

Darn...I'm not sure how to post a picture of my screen. I have the
jpg, but don't know how to put it in this message box for everyone to
see :(

Reply to this message and drag the jog onto the message window - it will be
attached to the message

Unfortunately, when I drag the picture in, all I get is what is shown
above....I'll email the picture to you and maybe you can post. Sorry,
and thanks!

An I/O error almost always means disk damage.

If I were to install Entourage 2004, would that help? I have Entourage
X on there right now.

I finally figured things out. Apparently the IMAP server that I never
used (only to forward to my main account) had finally been shut off
without me being informed of this. I found out through this error
message I guess. So....moral of the story is to check all of ones mail
accounts first and find out if one of the servers is buggin' out on ya.

Not if it's disk damage. You can use Disk Utility to check or repair.
Third-party disk utility software includes Alsoft DiskWarrior, Micromat Tech
Tool, and Symantec Norton Disk Doctor.

For directions on using Disk Utility, open DU and select Help. Search for "
Testing and repairing a disk or volume".

Let me know if this works. The more feedback we get on error messages helps
us to know what to suggest to other users.
