tab key weirdness

Suddenly, whenever I press the TAB key, I jump from open document to open
document. For example, I just pressed the tab key to get to the next field
on this form, and instead, my MS word document came to the screen. Any ideas
how to get my tab key working normally again? Using Word. Thanks.

Off hand, it sounds like your Alt key is sticking, since the behavior you're
getting is what you'd get if you were to press Alt+Tab.

In older versions of Windows, this was actually not uncommon. The "solution"
was to tap either or both Alt keys a couple of times.

It's also possible that your Alt key is physically sticking, in which case
you might want to get a can of compressed air and see if you can blow away
whatever dust/debris is causing the problem. It's also possible that the
keyboard is going south... I've had that happen, as well. You might want to
swap out that keyboard for a different one to see if the problem clears up.
