Tab moves user to another application, not text editing

While the cursor is on a slide, pressing Tab (want to indent the next line) I am taken to another application that is open and resident. This is a new situation from the last time the presentation was open. Is there a setting somewhere I have stumbled into? How do I get back to having Tab indent in text editiing

Thanks

What application does it switch to? Maybe that application has reset the
function of the tab key. If you close the application, does the tab key
behave correctly?

I tried what most beginners would do - restarted the computer. It cleared

Thank you for taking time to answer my thread
