Table of Contents and Hyperlink problem

I have a large document which has a TOC included - this
was created using Heading 1, etc. When the Hyperlink
colour and font is changed the TOC also changes. My TOC
should be Times New Roman 12pt black, Hyperlink should be
Arial 10 blue (when not selected, Maroon after being
visited).

Using Word 2000.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hi Colleen

TOC styles are set to 'Automatically update' by default, and TOCs contain
hyperlinks, so maybe the TOC styles are picking up the changes you are
trying to make to the Hyperlink text?

Alternatively (I haven't tried this) it could be an order of work problem -
if you recreate the TOC after changing the Hyperlink style, maybe it will
make the TOC hyperlinks 'silent' again ?
