Word 2003 -
I am following the directions from J. West's document on the above subject. (By the way, it works best if the show/hide button is on; otherwise it looks like it doesn't take anything after the R).
I put all the codes in, (yes, convert to smart quotes is off), and then pressed F9 to get the TOC. Instead I am getting error multiple error messages (I don't have rights, the files are corrupted, I am out of resources - none of which are true), after getting off the error window, I get "ERROR! CANNOT OPEN FILE REFERENCED ON PAGE 1" for each file that I have in the codes.
The TOC document is in the same folder as the rest of the files. I copied/pasted the file names between the quotes to ensure that they were identical.
So - here are my questions:
1) Is this supposed to work if you have manually coded (alt + shift O) your TOC entries? (yes, I made sure the box was checked in Options)
2) What am I doing wrong? Help!
