Exchange parity has been a top priority. Office 2008 had to be totally
rewritten for Intel machines. Now that the base is there, I'm sure more
features will be addressed. There is not time table for when to expect these
changes.
Your best option is to send MSFT feedback. The more people complain the
better chances of getting your requests answered.
When working in Office, you can use the ³Send Feedback² option under the
Help menu in all of the Office applications.
To add to this, keep in mind that Exchange Server 2007 is the currently
released version of Exchange. All Exchange communication within
Entourage 2004 and most of Entourage 2008 is currently done through
WebDAV, which is a "de-emphasized" service in 2007. That means it's
going away. Some of Entourage 2008 is using Exchange Server 2007's Web
Services, such as the expanded Out of Office utility.
Additionally, if you read this TechNet article
<
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997614(EXCHG.80).aspx>
MAPI is also de-emphasized. That means it's going away too. And this
same article says new applications should be written against Web Services.
Any improvements to Entourage for Exchange parity will probably not be
seen with older versions of Exchange where newer protocols are coming
into play and older ones are being phased out or else they would
probably have been implemented them already.
Hope this helps!
