Tasks - The Object could not be found

Using OL 2002 with SP 3. Can create a task and assign it. When clicking Send
this message comes up: Microsoft Outlook The Object could not be found. OK.
The task does appear in the Sent Items folder and Sender's task list.
However, the new owner never gets an email for the task and it does not show
in their Tasks folder.
