Text box margins are a freakin me out ! ;^)

Office 2003 Powerpoint.

All the text boxes in presentations have funky acting margins. I will
set the text to left justify, but it will still be 1/2 inch from the
left margin of the placeholder box - does move way left at all hardly.
Same for right margin.

Where's the magic setting. I want left to mean Flush Left.

As always, many thaks!

Select the placeholder, go to Format > Placeholder > Text Box and change the
Internal Margins. To change it throughout the presentation, go to View > Master

Did you set it on the slide or on the Slide Master? If the latter, you may need
to reapply the master and you may need to reapply the slide layout.

Make sure you don't have one of the "centered" options selected in the "text
anchor point" area, Todd. I've seen those do some really strange things....
