text box over graphic?

How do I insert a text box over a picture/graphic? Want the picture
behind the text. I'm used to Word 08 and just now using 11. I'm on a
Mac, OS 10.6.8.

I don't think it's changed, but after you create the text box, go to
Format-->Text Box and choose the layout "In front of text." (Yeah,
it's a little confusing: in this case it means "in front of graphic.")
