Text Overlayment

Is there a way to overlay on letter with another - so that both are visible?
Or is there some way to create a composite? For examples: M overlaying W or
P overlaying X or T overlaying O?

WordArt?

Create a text box on the Master page with your first letter, on the publication
page create another text box with the second letter.

I;m relatively new to Publisher. I am creating a booklet with twenty pages.
I want the overlayed letters on three of the pages only.

Pat, the trick is to make sure you've got the text boxes for at least the
top layer letter set to "no fill" (select this option by clicking on the
little paint button in the tool bar). This will make the frames around the
letter boxes transparent and you'll be able to see both letters laying over
each other. Also make sure under the "Format" menu and "Text Frame
Properties" that you have the "wrap text around objects" option unchecked.
For single letters this won't matter much but if you're trying to control
alignment of the text boxes seperately it's better to turn this off.

Hope this helps.

Publisher 2003 text boxes have no fill. In your first text box create your
letter, copy/paste the text box, align the two text boxes, change the letter in
text box two, nudge until you have the look you want, group.

Thanks all. Your directions were very fruitful for me. I am using
Publisher 2002. In PowerPoint there is the option to view grids, which I
find very useful. This does not seem to be supported in Publisher 2002, or
am I missing something? Also, is there a way to change the boundaries and
guides settings? What's up with the very closely situated red and blue
boundaries in the brochure layout?
