Text Wrapping

As I read and write e-mail, Entourage forces my lines to break at
(approximately) 42 characters, so I end up using only half of my window. I
can't seem to find the preference to widen the "text wrap zone" -- anybody
know? Thanks.

Plain text breaks at 76-80 characters, not 42. That's a standard protocol.
If you want longer lines with no hard breaks, use HTML when sending. You can
set that in an individual message by clicking the "abab" button on the lower
toolbar, or set all your messages to be HTML in Mail & News Preferences
(Entourage Menu) / Compose (also Reply). But if other people send you plain
text, as most people do, it will still break at 76-80 characters per line,
as they sent it.

Thanks, Paul, for that informative answer. It's too bad, though -- I greatly
prefer plain-text e-mail but I hate being forced to break lines when there's
plenty of window space for the text I'm typing to keep going.

I stand corrected on the 42-character figure. I just pulled that out of my
.... er ... hat, yeah, that's it, hat. :)

Have a nice weekend, everybody.
