Textbox displays first character only

Hi all,

I' ve developed an addin, which runs under Word 2000, 2002 and 2003.
Programming language: VB6

Recently, a friend of mine installed the addin. He is using the same
version of Windows XP and Word 2002 as I do, but there is an annoying
difference:

If he activates an addin specific form via menu, all textboxes with
a default string assigned, display only its first character.

Anybody out there having observed this strange behavior?
