the ' (apostrophe) being used when sending emails

I have a client whose emails send with the apostrophe
before and after the email address, for
example, '[email protected]'

This is causing my mail server to reject the email. Is
there a way in outlook to make it not use the apostrophe
in the address? Any help is much appreciated.
