The Missing Sync: Works Well under Panther?

S

Sam Elowitch

I'm so fed up with my Palm HotSync issues that I would gladly pay the $40
for TMS if I was certain it would work. Anybody have experiences with it?

You can read some comments about it here. Of course the main group of people
who would leave comments here are those who have had problems with it.

From what I understand, it works in conjunction with the Entourage Conduit.
I would say that if you can't get OSX to acknowledge your Palm, then TMS
probably wouldn't be any different for you than what you are trying now. On
the other hand, TMS may install the files required to enable OSX to
recognize your Palm.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong please. I'd be interested in knowing just
how TMS works.

Sam, have you tried to see if you can sync with Palm Desktop software
itself? That would give you an idea as to where your situation is actually
beginning.

Version 4 completely replaces the Palm software (but it keeps all the
conduits). I couldn't be happier. Really a good app. Additionally, it
also synch third party Palm-based handhelds (I have a Clié).

You set up the conduits exactly the same way if that's what you a
worried about.

I own Missing Sync 4. It works fine with the Entourage 2004 conduit.
Mark/Space have a web page where they list all the conduits they know to be
incompatible, in case there's other conduits you are interested in.

Missing Sync generally seems a cleaner piece of work than Palm's Hotsync
Manager, so there's some chance that it will work for you where Palm does
not.

Cheers,

On the other hand, if the true diagnosis is in fact Sudden USB Death
Syndrome or a building of static electricity, no software will be able to
help.

I own Missing Sync 4 and cannot get it to work with Entourage X, though
I love it for everyhting else. I will gladly update to Entourage 2004
if it will work, though I don't use Panther, and am wondering if it
works with Jaguar. Any ideas?

Thank,

Jackie
