The Number of Public Outlook Contacts are Shown Incorrectly

I have setup remote profiles for approx 50 users and I setup outlook on a SBS
2003 Server. Everything is working fine except when I setup outlook today
to show public contacts folder. When you show the public contacts folder
in outlook today it is supposed to show the number of contacts in that folder
(for example "PSM CONTACTs 44"). When some users login to their email they
see 23, 28, 34, 18 and when you manaully count the public contacts they are
correct. Some users show the correct amount but for the most part their out
look today shows the wrong amount. What can be done to show the correct
amount of Public Contacts in Outlook TodaY. I hope all is well and you can
help.
