The Object could not be found - error

Using OL 2002 with SP 3. I can create a task and assign it. But when clicking
Send
this message comes up: Microsoft Outlook The Object could not be found.
The task does appear in the Sent Items folder and my task list.
However, the new owner never gets an email for the task and it does not show
in their Tasks folder.
