The password box won't let me type my password in it?

I'm trying to help a friend get her Entourage working again. It worked
fine until about a week ago, but now everytime she tries to do anything
(send or receive email) the password box pops up and asks for her
password, but it won't let her type a password in the box.

Does anyone know what might cause that to happen? We tried creating
the account all over again, but it still does that.

Oddly, My Entourage just started doing this. If I quit it, it will work
fine, but if I switch Identities, it won't allow text entry.
