The Single Worst Application?

FRUSTRATED

Hi All,

I have been using PPT since 1995 with little to no complaints... I have
recently just switched to 2003 and I have to honestly say this is the single
WORST version of PowerPoint I have ever used!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CANNOT
VOICE MY DISTASTE FOR THE APP LOUD ENOUGH!!!!!!!!

I would really like to know WHY the simpliest of functions such as "Copy &
Paste" or "Applying a New Design" or working on the "Slide Master" results in
nothing more than a complete disaster? I'm left with having to take 50-100
steps backwards just to make the slide look right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY GAWD!!!!!!!! I would be better off with a gun shot to the head!!!!!!!!!
WHY WHY WHY Microsoft have youy taken an otherwise good application and made
it utterly useless?

I am on my last nerve having to constatly reformat EVERY SINGLE CHART 2 or 3
times... even then the fonts constantly change...

You really blew it this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Complete disaster" means different things to different people. When I
copy/paste, I don't get anything resembling a disaster, so what exactly is
the problem there? Applying a new template doesn't usually cause me major
problems either, although strange things can definitely happen then. The
multiple masters generally let me overcome most of those problems, though.

I realize you're frustrated, but we can't help you resolve your issues if
you don't bother to tell us what exactly the problem is.

Then again, if you just wanted to rant, no problem.

I don't have this issue, either. http://www.echosvoice.com/charts.htm might
help you, though. See especially numbers 2, 3, and 4 on that page.

Hi All,

Sorry for the delay in response. At first the IT department thought the
newer version of PPT was conflicting with an older version of PPT - the DLLs
might have been causing problems - wrong... Here are just a few of the
multitude of errors I've been having with PowerPoint 2003.

PowerPoint Errors:

Toolbars randomly disappear and / or rearrange themselves

When coping & pasting text, text will:

1) Automatically add bullets, varying font size, etc...
2) Bold text will become italic, italic text will become normal, etc…
3) Font sizes change
4) Text in tables change color, size, attributes, etc…

When pasting a text block to a slide with the “Title†layout applied, the
pasted text block takes on the “Title†layout despite the fact there is
already a “Title†typed

Text blocks move around chart after saving, closing and then reopening
presentation – especially on the “Title†charts!

Font sizes constantly change on the Master slides – especially on the
“Title†charts

The line spacing is also changed when text is copied and pasted into a text
block

Randomly new text blocks will not “Auto Wrapâ€

Objects will “NOT†snap to grid, align to guidelines or chart edges.

Multiple slide designs merge onto "one" single chart

Fixes? I haven't been able to fix most of these issues.
