"This identity can not be opened with this version of Entourage"

I received a message that the Entoruagre was shutting down and after a
restart still got the same message. SO I reinstalled Entoruage from
the office for Mac Student/Teacher version 2004 CD and got the above
mesage.

I am really annioyed as I need to access my email and it has basically
locked me out.

There is only one identity on my computer.

Please help.

The version of Entourage you are currently using is not up-to-date;
Microsoft changed Entourage's database format twice, with the SP1 and SP2
updates, so any pre-SP1/SP2 version of Entourage will not be able to open
identities used under SP1/SP2. Apply the latest updates by using the
Microsoft AutoUpdate application, and Entourage will access your identity
the way it should.
