In the past, I have moved the usa data file from my office computer to

Tried rebuilding the database. This process does not work.

Are you sure? How big is your database file this time? In any case, the
database is evidently now corrupt.

What is the error? With an Advanced Rebuild?

Instead, rebuild the database on the _first_ computer (desktop). Make sure
you do an Advanced Rebuild. Then move the Microsoft User Data folder again.
Does that help?

But before you do any of this, first update Office on both computers with
the Office 10.1.6 Updater, available form MacTopia. If you really have
10.1.0 no wonder the rebuild doesn't work.

WHAT didn't work? Of course they will work if you use them the proper way.
If the other methods don't help, then that's what you should do. Install
Export-Import Entourage on the desktop computer. Use _ALL_ the Export
scripts. (Start with Signatures, then Categories, then Accounts, then
everything else. Read the ReadMe on "Folders Export vs. Messages Export" and
decide which you want to use - you don't need both. Then Contacts, Groups,
Calendar, Tasks, and Notes.)

On the laptop, remove the Main Identity folder from the Office X Identities
folder in the MUD folder. Install Export-Import X scripts on the laptop (you
can use the same activation code). launch Entourage - it will open to a new
empty identity. use all the Import scripts to import everything. Start with
Signatures, then Categories, then Accounts, then everything else (Messages
or Folders, same as export). That will recreate everything as it was on the
desktop.

But if you _can_ rebuild the database on the desktop then the scripts should
not be necessary. If you _can't_ rebuild there, you'd better use the scripts
on the desktop as well because your database will soon be too corrupt to
open. (If you want to be _really safe_, use all the Export scripts before
trying to rebuild, just in case.) Then make a new identity in Switch
Identities/New, and use the Import scripts to import everything there. The
process of exporting as text and importing again removes all corruption.
