Timescale Question

Mike S.

Hi,
To simplify things, I have a project which covers two distinct phases. The
first or Research phase lasts several months. The second phase or
implementation phase spans two days and has numerous deadline times (eg.,
10:30 am, 2:15 pm, etc)within this two-day period. I'd like to represent the
time deadlines at their defined times and also the entire project from
research to implementation close. Can this be done in MS Project?

Thanks in advance.

Yes.

But I think you are are saying that you have need for showing different
time scales (months/inch or days/inch) on the Gantt Chart. There isn't
a way to show multiple time scales on the same Chart as produced by Project.

All is not lost. You just create 2 Gantt charts. Show the first phase on
one chart with a scale that fits, and show the second phase on the a
second chart with a scale that fits. Paste them together and photocopy.

Thanks for your reply, Rob. The second part of the question,...Project can
do milestone dates - can it also do milestone times (eg. 10:30 am, 2:15 pm,
etc.)

Yes. Menu: Tools/Options, Tab: View:, pick "Date Format" with time
showing.
