Tiny fonts in Outlook

M

Melvin Harmon

When sending email to my co-workers who use Outlook on PC's, my
messages arrive in miniscule fonts. While I compose in Tahoma 12pt,
what they receive is something along the lines of 6pt, nearly
impossible to read. Of course, I could choose to use plain text, but
prefer to be able to send messages in HTML, as I use a lot of graphics
and such.

I've found help on www.entourage.mvps.org related to the opposite
problem, but nothing that addresses this. I'd hate to have to start
composing my messages in something like 20pt, as it would only take a
few sentences to fill up the entire screen.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Melvin,

Have you received any input on this issue? I too am having the same
problem. I compose email using Verdana 12pt and my coworkers using
Outlook (PC) are receiving the email with the font at 5pt.

Thanks.

Hi!

I posted about the issue beforee to this group.
I do have a similar problem that some of my Outlook-on-PC collegues receive
my HTML mails with smaller fonts.
I use Arial 12 and the font gets reduced.

The interesting thing is that when these collegues quote my mail and I in
turn reply, I can see the original message getting smaller again (only up to
a certain very tiny size though).

It is not an issue with how I display the font - the font seize is changed
in the process (actually shows up seize 5 when I gt the reply) and it does
not happen with every Outlook user! Most people I have correspondance with
use Outlook (2000-2003) on Windows and I only have this issue with a few
collegues (all using Outlook 2003, which may be no coincidence, but a lot
also use 2003 and it doesn't happen).

I tried to figure out why it is happening, checking the code page they use,
if they use Word as editor (which only some use), etc., but haven't come
across the reason yet. It does have something to do with the HTML code as
this IS changed in the process. Not sure if it's a bug/incompatibility with
Outlook (2003) or Entourage.

Because I send a lot of mail to my customers, I now changed to plan text
just in case. Not very nice...

Regards,
Jens

You could compose the text in 12pt, and when done, select all and set
the size to 20pt before sending. I recognize that's only a workaround,
but it might help your Windows friends until a solution is found.

Seems that my post didn't get through, so I send it again...
