Does anyone know the specifics of how the find function works in the
upper right corner of Entourage 2004's main window.
When my Sent folder, then select To... Contains..., and put in
"earthlink" for instance, not all the emails that I sent to people with
earthlink addresses show up. Not even most of them. Yet, some do. If
none showed up, I would guess that this front window Find feature only
is looking at the First and Last names. But since some emails sent to
those with earthlink address do show up, I'm baffled as to its
paramters.
If I hit Command-F, and use that window's search field for "earthlink",
(without hitting the *More Options* button) the above search criteria
works. In other words, all emails sent to people with earthlink
addresses do show up.
I've tested this with a variety of domain names. I communicate
regularly with folks who work at Earthfare health food stores
(earthfare.com), as well as other domains. Same thing as above: the
main window's Find field locates some but not all Sent mail, while the
Command-F Find field finds them all.
Is there a FAQ on everything you ever wanted to know abotu the search
function in Entourage 2004? I'd love to read it.
One other related question. I find the Command-F search window to be a
lousy interface. Has anyone ever found a keyboard shortcut to that
"More Options" button in the Command-F window. That would at least
eliminate needing to reach for the mouse in some cases.
