HI, Diane, you've helped me before. My Entourage thinks I'm a new account, and I searched the forums for help. I have the Microsoft User Data folders but I don't know where to put them. I tried User/Documents, and Desktop/Documents, but nothing works. I read your post on how to restore the folders but I can't figure out where they should go. I believe they should work if they are in user/documents, but they are there already. I can't switch identities either, it just keeps telling me to shut down MSN apps, and goes back to setup assistant. Please let me know what to do, and thanks.

The Microsoft User Data folder does belong in the Documents folder. I'm
guessing that the contents of the Microsoft User Data folder are messed
up...most likely the contents of the Main Identity folder.

My suggestion.

1) Move all Microsoft User Data folder out of Documents.
2) Open Entourage and let it create a new Microsoft User Data folder and a
new blank Identity.

Now that you have a template, compare it to your old Microsoft User Data
folder.

Do you see differences?

While you try to put things back together, I would rename the new blank Main
Identity as Main Blank. When you drag back your Main Identity you will still
have the example.

As far as the Setup Assistant, this sounds like a separate issue. You really
need to address this error first. This indicates an install problem and
until that is fixed you won't be able to use Entourage. See "Setup Assistant
Errors"

Hi, Diane, and thanks! This happened right after I got an Office upgrade through the automatic system. Nothing is working. I don't see any differences. Entourage accepted my new identity, and I've tried to import, but after Identity, everything is grayed out. I tried dragging the folders back to Documents, but there's still nothing. I tried sending this to you via the above off list address, but it won't let me. Thanks.

Under About Entourage what version do you see? If you post your email, I
will try to contact you.
