To Dismiss Early, Yet Keep Event?

I type in a new event. It's all day. Every once in a while I get an alarm,
which I choose to snooze (for an hour, let's say) because the task isn't
done. Then, magically, the task gets done (they picked up a dumpster in my
driveway), but I don't feel like waiting for the next alarm, after the
snooze time. So is there a way for me to select the event and Dismiss it,
without having to resort to deleting the event (which I don't want to do,
because I want to remember when they picked up the dumpster)...

Anyone?

Thanks for being cool, you folks are incredibly generous with your time.

Thanks again,

Stu

Open the event and uncheck the alarm?

You mean the checkbox marked Reminder that I always wondered about...? Ah.
Yeah, well, if you actually have a functioning corpus collosum, sure, it's
easy for you! ;-)

Thanks Barry!
