Tough book choice?

David

Firstly, I am not john Walkenbach!
Second, I am about to order some books and am considering "Excel 2003 Bible" and "Excel 2003 Formulas". I've looked at the contents listed for these 2 on JWs site and there looks to be plenty of overlap between the 2 books. Has anyone read these?
Is one a sub set of the other or is it worth getting both?

David,

They are good books, and John is a good and respected author. Have you been
to John's site to get a synopsis of them (www.ju-walk.com/ss), or looked on
Amazon to get it?

Bob,
Thanks for your reply,
I've already looked where you suggest and on JWs site there is a table of contents for both books. Many of the chapter headings are the same, hence my original question.

David,

Sorry I can't offer any further advice as I haven't read either book.
Perhaps someone who has used both can add some insight?

David,

There is definitely some overlap between the two books. In the Excel 2003
Bible, included several chapters (modified a bit) from Excel 2003
Formulas -- primarily because I thought they would be useful to general
readers.

The choice ultimately depends on your experience level. If you have a good
handle on most of Excel's features but want to improve your formulas, the
Formulas book is the obvious choice. If you're a relative beginner, I'd
recommend the Bible.

Ideally, you should go to a bookstore and thumb through both of them.
