Transfer Calendar within LAN fails 25%- why?

Hardwired LAN, running Windows XP SP2, firewall router w/VPN capability, high
intermediate user; About 1/4 times when I try to update my other peripheral
laptops from the Works 8.0 Calendar on the mainframe, the transfer fails. So
far, it succeeds on 2nd attempt. Method: export Calendar as iCalendar file
to a shared folder, on each laptop station, create new Calendar, delete old
one, and import iCalendar through the network.

You might try asking in the Works group instead (link below), Office
applications aren't involved.
