transfer contacts to address book

I am incredibly stupid cos i still can't figure it out? I have email address
from about 10 people i've contacted in my address book (the icon at the top
of the email page) then i have a list of 50 names telephone numbers in my
contacts list situated at the left of the inbox as a shortcut bar)..

why can't i have the contacts in my address book?

Right click on the Contacts folder, choose Properties go to the Outlook
Address Book tab and check the "Show this folder as an email address book"
box
