Transferring floppy data to CD without "read only" protection?

My new computer does not have a floppy drive so I had to buy an external.
When I transfer data from it to a cd, it is processed as read-only. "Help"
instructions say to use the unprotect document key on the toolbar. Problem:
There are too many files to do that individually. Suggestions, please.

This is normal behaviour - copy the files to the hard drive using Windows
Explorer. Select all the files, right click > properties and uncheck the
read only box.

Once you copy the files back to your hard drive, you can press CTRL+A to
select them all, right-click and select "Properties", and uncheck the "Read
Only" attribute. Keep in mind if you select some files that DO have Read
Only and some files that DO NOT have Read Only, you might need to click the
checkbox a couple of times to turn it off.
