Transferring PivotTable to Powerpoint Slide

I have an excel sheet with PivotTable(PT), I have developed it for Palm
(PDA) but because of small screen in palm its not visible and we cannot use
PT functionality. Therefore, now I want to transfer this PT to Powerpoint
slide so that we can view entire contents of PT in small Palm screen.

My problems are:
First, If anyone know better way to acomplish my need other than this.

Secondly, How can I transfer my PT with source sheet to powerpoint slide

Not sure if it will show up any better but the correct way is to do this:

1. Select your Pivot Table
2. Press CTRL-C to copy it
3. Switch to your PowerPoint slide and click "Edit", "Paste Special", then
select the Excel Pivot Table option (should already be highlighted).
4. Click OK

See if that works.

Checking Google groups gives me all of 7 hits.

it into PP. Or embed an XL object into PP and use it to create the
chart."

Actually, that thread also mentions an ActiveX control, which prompted
Tushar to experiment with that, and he actually got it to work!

So the upshot is that you need an ActiveX control. Hopefully that thread
will help explain it better.

Toolbox. I want help about this control

This control has properties e.g. ConnectionString, CommandText, DataMembers.
How can I give value to these properties What is the syntax.

I'd indicated in that discussion two years ago that I'd try and post a
tutorial on the subject on my web site. Someone who searched google a
week or so ago found the discussion and asked if I had ever finished
the tutorial.

Not only had I not, but two years later I can't even find the files I'd
used for the test. Since I did send them to Brian, maybe he saved them
or, better yet, used the technique for some real work. If so, maybe he
can share his knowledge on the subject.

Yes, there were some good leads in that discussion.

Actually, someone contacted me by email about a week or so ago. She
had a similar problem, searched through google, found the same
discussion, searched my website, and, when she came up empty-handed,
emailed me asking if somehow she I had actually put the tutorial on my
web site and if she'd somehow missed it.

Given how extensively she tried being self-sufficient has been a
powerful motivator to try and get the tutorial done Will it get
done? Depends on how much I can recreate two years later!

Hi,

I have a Pivot table in a PowerPoint file that does activate during a
slideshow. It uses an Active X control, which is one of about 5 ways of
doing it. This one is the best from what I have seen. The good thing is that
it will run in slideshow mode without having to either activate the table,
or link to it. But it seems you have to have the control installed on the
target machine. So I can't really send it unless I can find the particular
control.

Tushar, are you interested in a copy to see if it will run on your machine?
