Not to be a naysayer, but there are other problems as well, that are
perhaps more minor than the ones listed here, but are nevertheless
annoying. I'm only using Panther, so I suppose it's possible some of
these things are fixed w/ Tiger, but I doubt it, since it's a Microsoft
issue, not a Mac issue.
Here are a few of my pet peeves:
1) Entourage lets you have a zillion categories; Palm only lets you
have about 16, so some disappear if you like to microorganize
2) If you use the "invite" feature in Entourage to get appts onto other
people's calendars, it won't let you invite others if you originally
entered the event on your Palm, rather than in Entourage (it seems to
think that the event was an invitation from someone else, so you're not
allowed to invite others).
3) Entourage can have multiple addresses; Palm only one. So, if you
enter a contact in Entourage, you have to be sure to specify which
address (work or home) to use as the default, and that's the only one
that gets sync'ed over to the palm.
4) because the categories within a contact don't exactly match between
Entourage and Palm, when you first sync your Palm to Entourage, some of
e-mail addresses come out looking like phone #'s, etc. The biggest
problem in this regard is using Entourage's autocomplete address
feature, which can then act as if the person doesn't have an e-mail
address until you go back into that contact, click on the e-mail
address, and designate it as the default, even if you only have one
e-mail address for that person.
there are others that have come up on this listserv, and I'd encourage
you to browse through and find some of them, so you can make an
informed decision. I"m still using Entourage 2004 w/ my Treo 600, but
do get frustrated by these problems.
Hope I haven't been too discouraging. Let me know how it goes for
you.
