I do exactly that. Just install on your Mac the Palm software that came
with the Treo 650, then the Handheld Sync Installer found in the
Microsoft Office 2004>Additional Tools folder. On the Mac, go into
Settings in HotSync Manager and click the checkbox for Bluetooth under
the sync options, not Bluetooth modem or that other weird Bluetooth
setting, just the regular Bluetooth setting. I would be more specific
if I had this in front of me, but this is all by memory, so I apologize
in advance for the vagueries! Then you have to pair your Treo with the
Mac, so use the setup procedure in your Treo to do that. Once you're
paired, the Treo creates a Bluetooth sync profile which you can
initiate from the HotSync app on your Treo. It works, and it's easy.
That said, I do not recommend Bluetooth for your first sync, or for any
big install syncs, because it only transmits about 10-15k per second in
my experience. I do recommend using your USB HotSync cable, which is so
fast you'll think something went wrong. Bluetooth syncs are only good
for minor regular syncs that don't transfer much data. Good luck!
