Trial CD "corrupt"

I have now obtained the Office Pro trial CD. When attempting to install it I
am
able to enter the Product Key but when I select "Next", I receive a Message
"Microsoft Office Setup cannot continue because the installation source has
been corrupted".

I have cleaned previous attempt logs from temp.

I have Publisher XP installed on this new notebook (now with 448 mb ram,)
40gb (20 gb on drive) free space > 9gb sempron 2800 notebook

I would really like to get eiher the standard or pro trials to work on the
notebook. I am not willing to further jeopardie my desktop installation of
office xp pro.

It's a common error recently. I'm getting the same error if I extract the
Office STD trial version and I was considering to order a trial CD. I guess
I won't order a CD anymore. If I just lounch the OfficeSTD file I get the
"Fatal
error during installation". I'm sorry I can't help you but it looks Office
Standard trial has some issues and nobody here has a solution. The same issue
happens with
OneNote trial, as you can read from my posts below.
