Trial MS Word 2003 activation

Trial MS Word lacks file creation/edit

The license agreement during activation said it would allow file creation and
editing for 60 days, and file reading thereafter. My 60 day activation was
confirmed, but the trial MS Word still did not allow file creation. License
agreement is wrong?
